Keep It Growing

Dear Brig,

I am growing out my hair, but it isn’t getting longer. Why not?

Have you been getting the ends trimmed approximately every 12 weeks? This is so important. If you do not get it trimmed thinking it will just grow long you will be disappointed when it doesn’t get longer. Once you have split ends and they are not cut, they will continue to break upwards weakening the bottom of your hair. The most important thing is letting your stylist know you are growing your hair and to create a plan with them about how to reach your desired length. Dry hair cuts are great and can make sure that your stylist only removes the dead ends. On average hair grows one ½ inch per month, so do the math and be patient.
