Dear Brig,
Is there really a difference between a $4.99 bottle of shampoo & a $20 bottle?
Of course, $15.01. Alright, all joking aside, there is a big difference. Often the $4.99 product has attracted you through a lot of fancy advertising using those super long hair models. You know the ones I am talking about. The hair that looks oh so retouched, I mean perfect. Believe me, they do not use that product. The $$$ goes into the advertising and not necessarily into the bottle. The $20 product was probably made using higher quality ingredients and usually comes from a salon backed by a professional recommendation. The best way to find out which is best for you is to analyze how much you spend on your hair cut and color each month and then figure how much you should spend to maintain that look at home. Always be sure that your stylist writes down what they used (and how) so that you can try those products at home and buy them as you can afford them.

I was guilty of using $5 shampoo products, until Brig put a stop to it and Highly recomended I start using Bumble & Bumble. (She compared a high end shampoo to her, and compared the lower end shampoo to supercuts– it was pretty funny at the time)
BUT, let me just say that Brig was 100% correct. After a few weeks of using better quality shampoo and conditioner my hair has changed drastically. It’s all around softer, shiny, healthy, and always smells great.
So, Yes! The type of shampoo and conditioner you use, does matter.. believe me.
